The Carbinieri are the elite National Military police force of Italy. They are a very tough bunch who will crack heads at the drop of a hat. A fellow Physician, (Dr Joe De Pasquale from Lyndhurst,NJ)who trained in Italy, told me of a few times when he was involved in bar fights with Africans and Muslims the Carabinieri would come in , size up the situation,escort him out of harm`s way, and proceed with some corporal crumpling! Don`t mess with the Carabinieri!
